Dr. Martin P Alphonse, TN, India
With a B.Sc. in Microbiology and an M.Sc. in Biotechnology from Bharathiyar University, India, as well as an M.Sc. in Immunology from the University of Manitoba and a Ph.D. in Immunology from the University of Toronto, Canada, Dr. Alphonse brings together diverse scientific perspectives in their research. Their work focuses on immuno-dermatology research in the lab. By using advanced techniques such as RNA sequencing, immuno-metabolomics (functional Met-FLOW), and spatial transcriptomics, they aim to discover new biomarkers and therapeutic targets for skin-related immune diseases. Dustin has a Master’s from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In his free time, he enjoys LitRPG audiobooks and occasionally creating etched or stained glass.

Darshan is a 3rd year medical student at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He has a B.S. from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. from Princeton University. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, trying new restaurants, and traveling.

Namya is a sophomore studying Biology in the Seven Year BS/MD Program at The College of New Jersey. In her free time, Namya is an Indian classical vocalist and dancer.

Alumni

Emily joined the Alphonse lab as a junior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minoring in Psychology. She graduated in December 2022 from Johns Hopkins University. Following her graduation, she worked in the Alphonse lab as a Research Assistant. Currently, she is a medical student in Stony Brook, NY. In her free time Emily was a member of the varsity track team at Johns Hopkins

Denion was a UG trainee in Molecular and Cellular Biology and minoring in Psychology. In his free time, Denion enjoys playing intramural basketball and soccer at Johns Hopkins.
